Executive Secretariat

LIFE Institute is managed by the Executive Secretariat, responsible for implementing the strategies defined by the Board of Directors. The Executive Secretariat is also responsible for reporting to the Board and to the Fiscal Council on the operational and financial management.

Meet the members of LIFE Institute’s Executive Secretariat:

	Maria Alice Alexandre – LIFE Institute’s Executive Secretary, has a B.S. degree in Mathematics from PUC-Campinas and an MBA from FGV-EAESP. Between 2007 and 2009 she worked as Nokia Corporate’s Purchasing Director for Latin America, being responsible for developing new processes for managing and qualifying vendors, forging strategic alliances to support the business, as well as monitoring, planning, spend-and-savings forecast, key performance indicators, and meeting goals and objectives. Maria Alice also worked for Lucent Technologies as Purchasing Director for Brazil and Latin America, and for Ricoh Industrie in France as Purchasing Manager for ten years.
	Adriana Meger – Administrative-Financial Area, 38, has a B.A. in Business Administration from Positivo University. She has over 10 years of experience in Administration and Finance. She worked for O Boticário Foundation for Nature Protection as an Environmental Project Management Analyst between 2008 and 2009, and before that, as a Financial Manager for large corporations and as a Service Manager for a large bank.
	Regiane Borsato – Technical Coordinator. Works as a consultant in Certification Systems and Socio-Environment Management since 1998. Experience in Forest Certification in the following areas: Forest Management, Chain of Custody and Group Certification Systems. Implemented the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Forest Certification in several companies in southern Brazil, and later was responsible for internal audits of corporate environment processes and systems management. Participated of ISO audits in the industrial and forest areas, as auditor and technical review analyst of forest certification processes for the FSC (Imaflora) and CERFLOR (Tecpar) systems. Experience with compliance and follow-up of external audits conducted by different processes and certifying agencies (Imaflora, SGS and SCS). Conducted audits of Chain of Custody for Imaflora. Professional trainer on certification systems in companies, events and universities. She has graduated in Forest Engineering from Universidade Federal do Paraná, and has a Master Degree in Forest Sciences – Silviculture concentration with an interdisciplinary approach.
	Carlos Guimarães – Communications Coordinator. Worked between 2001 and 2009 for NQM Comunicação, a company specialized in outsourcing corporate communications, investor relations and media relations, including major client accounts in a variety of areas: corporate, business, environment, hotel industry, education, culture, entertainment, among others. Also worked at the Press Office of Clube Atlético Paranaense and at CBN Radio’s Production Department. Graduated in Journalism from PUC-PR with specialization in Corporate Journalism and Communications.
